What Is Nutritional Medicine?
Nutritional Medicine combines Western Medicine with complementary treatment options including nutritional support and supplementation.  Dr Toby uses biochemical assessments and advanced complementary medicine in conjunction with her general practice knowledge to treat a range or health ailments. Dr Sam is an Australian born and trained medical doctor (B.SC, M.B.B.S., F.R.A.C.G.P.).

She was born and raised in Rockhampton in country Queensland, Australia.

Dr Sam is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and active member of the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine, and an active Australian Indigenous doctor and mentor.

Dr Sam's traditional Aboriginal country and people are from the Callide and Dawson Valleys' in Central Queensland Australia. She is an active member of her traditional owner group in particular focussing on health and well being for her people.
Dr Sam has extensive experience and has worked for the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, Queensland Health and private community health sectors for many years provide policy and advocacy advice. 

Dr Sam successfully completed her graduate medical and surgical studies and training at Griffith University, being the first Aboriginal medical doctor to graduate from this institution.

Additionally she has completed a science degree majoring in biomedical science at the University of Queensland in Australia, and now practices medicine as a general practitioner.

Dr Sam is also a Science Hero for the Queensland Museum Science Centre advocating for children to explore and fall in love with all things Science! 

Dr Sam currently provides advice on autism in various capacities in addition to clinical practice as a family doctor.

She currently sits on the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners' National Membership Advisory Committee as a committee member.

Awarded Doctor of The Year in 2016 with Griffith University was testament to Dr Sam's dedication to holistic medical care and for autism awareness and advocacy, both in Australia and internationally. 


Armed with medical and clinical knowledge and experience, supported by evidence based practices she has become an integrative doctor, incorporating nutritional and environmental medicine into her clinical practice. 


Dr Sam loves all things nutrition, nutritional and environmental medicine, and exercise and fitness!

Her passion and commitment to health and wellness for the last 18 years is reflected in her life and philosophy about holistic wellness. She enjoys preparing for fitness competitions in the natural body building arena, and competing in a natural bodybuilding and fitness competition placing in two divisions at the Queensland State Titles in 2016.

She loves supporting her fellow competitive bodybuilding team mates at competition events and loves spending her time in a supportive health and fitness community.
