How Do They Work?
As we age our face loses volume, the subcutaneous fat pads are reduced and the facial bones are resorbed. This process starts as young as at the age of 25 and leads to sagging skin which creates lines and creases. Dermal Fillers may be used to correct this problem or to enhance features such as lips and cheeks or fill in lines such as nasolabial folds or fine lines. We use Dermal Fillers made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies, in a stabilised gel. They are injected into the treated area via either a series of injections or a cannula under local anaesthetic. The treated area is volumised, in addition the filler attracts water, which hydrates the area from within. Dermal fillers can also be used to fill deep wrinkles that are resistant to treatment with Botox or Dysport.
